Not much. At least not on the main issue of the mid-term elections, the Iraq war. Bush remains commander in chief, Cheney says the US will stay the course and Rumsfeld is still Secretary of Defence. No change there.
There is some speculation this morning that the Democrats will try to force Bush to get rid of Rumsfeld. Not going to happen. Bush is too stubborn. What might happen (although it is still a long shot) is that some senior Republicans like John McCain and John Warner will go to Bush and tell him he has to dump the Defense Secretary and Bush might cave. Otherwise, despite the impressive election gains of the Democrats, it’s steady as she goes as far as the war is concerned.
